This morning I started and ended with a Pound Class Demo found online, trying to figure out if I should cave and order the Pound double dvd and Ripstix set.
http://www.poundfit.com/dvd
Inbetween the Pound demo, I did some edited Leslie Sansone on the bungee while holding Fitstix. I used the Aldis Crane Heartrate Monitor Pedometer Watch to check my Heartrate, much preferring it to my old monitor with a chest strap. This morning before getting out of bed, my resting heartrate was 49. During the workout I was between 60 to 80% of my MHR the whole time. Recovery was almost immediate. I was happy to see my heartrate seems darn good considering I workout for enjoyment more than fitness.
After trying the POUND demo a second time after Leslie and feeling a twinge in my hip, I decided against the set and started searching online for video uploads and found plenty. Then I started searching for Drums Alive already owning that dvd and found plenty. What really caught my interest was a senior chair class using chairs as drums:
This looks like a great crosstraining option for me with either my Drums Alive Drumsticks or Fitstix. I can use a stability ball for sitting and/or pounding instead of the chairs as well.

Nia's Groovin', Freemake Burn and FIOS Issues
Nia has uploaded their whole Groovin' vhs to their blog!!!
Groovin ' 92 | Nia
ETA:
Monday 10/17
This morning I warmed up with a mile from Leslie's 4 Fast miles (MUsic only) mostly on the bungee.
The music and moves started feeling very repetitive so that revisit is probably over for awhile.
Then I did some of the rest of the first routine on MET-Rx Conditioning dvd 3 MUsic only. Unfortunately, it started freezing alot at about their 33 minute countdown. Not sure if it is the dvd or my player. Probably will not revisit this dvd again but I didn't mind some of the resistance moves and will just add a few new tweaks of theirs to future resistance moves.
Finished with the first 27 minutes of Nia's Awareness of Nerves and really liked it.
The warmup is all about the feet. I did the first 12 minutes on puzzle mats then the rest sitting on a stability ball.
Yesterday when trying to burn a dvdr with Freemake Video Converter, it kept stopping at the 82% encoding point so I converted the whole project to MP4, noting which files seemed to be at that point and replaced those previous files with the new MP4 files. Worked like a charm :) Guess one of those two files confused Freemake when converting to dvd format.
Also last night, our FIOS HD STB had its hic-cup again after playing fine for several hours, blinking to a blank screen for a second or two every 5 seconds or so. I believe the HD STB over-heats but it may have just been a temporary FIOS glitch. This happened one other time on 9/12 after a storm. Not sure what to do about it as long as it plays ok most other days.
ETA:
Darn it. It happened again so after jumping through hoops with the FIOS phone system, they are sending us a new HD STB to try.
ETA: Tuesday 10/8
This morning I really enjoyed everything I did.
First was the PrayFit Warmup with replaced audio/MUsic.
Then two routines from Fabulously Fit Moms
One was with a scarf and the other with a weighted ball.
I had replaced the audio/MUsic on those as well.
Cannot share any of the above publicly because of copyrights.
Last but not least, I did the first set of the first routine on the first Met-Rx Cardio dvd and really liked the choice of moves and number of reps up to the almost 15 minute mark when planks took over for the last 2 minutes of the set. The whole set is then repeated a second time before the stretch. I'll probably replaced the MUsic and trim the routine to its first 15 minutes up to the planks. The MUsic they used was ok just not as motivating for me as my own.
We are staying put waiting for our new HD STB from FIOS which is out on the UPS truck. The tracking info did not include our name and address so I am a bit worried about Murphy's Law. Hope it arrives today and during daylight so I can see what I am doing when connecting the wires.
So the new HD STB from FIOS arrived today and was working fine for a couple of hours then boom, the same problem again. Spoke to a FIOS tech who said it could be the HDMI cable or the HDMI port on the tv. So I switched in another HDMI wire which cost like $4 from Amazon and it played fine so far. Makes me mad because we bought a $20 GE HDMI cable at Walmart for our new and only HD tv because Walmart claimed they had problems with cheaper wires and FIOS stopped providing any because the ones they provided received complaints. Well it seems as though most failed HDMI cables have been GE!!!! Guess we were lucky it worked for 18 months.
ETA:
Wednesday 10/9
First I did the second Cardio Tactics routine on the Met-RX dvd9.
I was able to tweak the plank moves so even though they are more scattered than in the first routine, I liked the routine just as much as the first. Most moves are very bungee friendly. No Buyer's remorse.
Then I did the rest of Nia's Awareness of Nerves. Some I liked alot and some I will not revisit.
I will be adding MUsic to both Cardio Tactics. DVD Fab HD Decrypter copied the needed VTS files to a folder for me and Freemake Video Converter will be used for stripping the audio and trimming.
I prefer 15 minute routines so I did each the sets for the routines separately because they are tweaked a bit more in the second sets.

Awareness of Fingers, Hands, & Wrists Sensing Meaning Routine on Vimeo
http://vimeo.com/72666618
Weds 9/11:
This morning I did the new jessicasmithtv Cardio Ball Blast routine to which I had added MUsic and really liked it!
The original can be found at http://youtu.be/gewf6cK866Y
I had uploaded some of my version on
http://neverendingplateau.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-new-month.html
and have uploaded the whole routine to my POMBarb channel on Daily Motion:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x14kfx8_js-cardio-ball-blast-with-mu_sport
Then I did some of her Cardio Pilates but just the upright moves:
http://youtu.be/L3EFKgfQe7Y
Finished with the Tai Chi warmup from LesMilles Body Balance 61.
Thurs 9/12:
This morning I did youtube routines by Dakidissa and Sharon Graham to which I had added MUsic on the bungee, stability ball and floor with Fitstix then some standing abs holding a purple Zumba stick instead of a medball.
Friday 9/13:
Today was Jessica's Metabolic Conditioning and On the Ball Core Stretch with added MUsic.
Saturday 9/14
This morning I did athletic cardio by the youtube Hollywood Trainer on the bungee and PiYo byTraci Schultz to which I had added MUsic. Also did some of Steve's Make Me Over from ExerciseTV with added MUsic while sitting on a stability ball and holding a purple Zumba stick. Finished with the Tai Chi warmup from Body Balance 27.
Sunday 9/15
This morning I did jessicasmithtv Power Walk with added MUsic first on the bungee then on puzzle mats with Fitstix. My feet like the feel of the different designs on the puzzle mats found at the toy section at Walmart awhile ago so may be doing most barefoot cardio on them. Then I did the one-sided strength from jessicasmithtv, some on the stability ball and some standing on the puzzle mats. I didn't like the music and cuing so I removed the audio and replaced it for next time. Unfortunately the MUsic I used is copyrighted so not sharing.
Monday 9/16
This morning I revisited some of Anni Mairs Fierce Force. I may edit this workout to make all of the moves I like just one set. Then I did the first half of Nia Awareness of Fingers, Hand and Wrists. I really liked a few of the moves especially from the 15 minute to 20 minute mark.
Tuesday 9/17
This morning I did the jessicasmithtv Cardio Ball Blast with different MUsic and enjoyed it on the bungee, puzzle mats and stability ball with a chiball then a purple Zumba stick. Then I did her Strong Stretch and the more recent Stretch and Relax. Also did the Healthy Qigong free download.
http://www.healthyqigong.com/
Weds 9/18
This morning I did some of circuits 3 and 4 from Fierce Force including the Warmup and Cooldown. Really liked alot of the moves and the Cooldown. Skipped the mat part of Circuit 3. Decided to edit Fierce Force, leaving out the moves I prefer to skip.
Then I did the Nia Awareness of Fingers, Hands and Wrists from the 30 minute mark till the floor started about the 45 minute mark. The 15 minutes I did were very good!!! Next Time will try it from the 15 minute mark to the 45 minute mark which will cover my favorite moves.

Some Online Finds
First of all, I want to mention a new Nia class clip with Carlos in the background group!
The actual routine starts at 1:42
This Nia youtube channel also has some footage from their Opal dvd.
This morning I did a bunch of routines and one of them was a wonderful upper body routine similar to TA:
Of course, it was even better with MUsic added :)
I also tried a few by PTFitness including their rebounder workout:

Amazon free MUsic, JS, New Nia
This morning I started with the jessicasmithtv High Intensity and Low Impact routine to which I had added MUsic and trimmed, leaving out the down to the floor stuff I skip and it turned into the perfect bungee spark. Most of the MUsic was found on Amazon which is a great source for free MP3 files:

or in flv only format with the new version of Freemake Video Downloader by pasting

Saturday 7/27
This morning I did more of Michele Dozois PeakFit Cardio Burn Remix. First I did the combo on the bungee then I did the repeat on the stability ball and really liked it on the ball! Next I did most of Ellen's Prevention Express Belly Blast with Fitstix, alternating the bungee, floor and stability ball. Actually preferred the original soundtrack to the music I tried with it! Finished with some of Jessica's Cardio Barre which went great with Irish music.
MUsic available at Amazon
Then I did Ellen's 30 minute Walk to which I had added MUsic and enjoyed the MUsic but tweaked most of the moves to make them more interesting. The first 10 minutes were on the bungee then the next 10 on the floor then the last 10 on the stability ball. I used Fitstix through-out but switched to the purple Zumba Stix when sitting on the ball to focus on biceps and triceps. The routine without my music is on my DailyMotion channel POMBarb
Then I did routines found on youtube including a Gigong ball routine
and another chiball routine as well as some of the stretch called *Kiss Anita* found on dagby - YouTube.
Sometimes I used a purple Zumba stick instead of a ball.

Blanche Ellen Jessica
This morning I warmed up to the first two weeks of Blanche Black's *Bouncing in the House* on the bungee which was on youtube a long time ago. I did have the *official* dvd which froze a bit so the youtube version was better!
Then I did the Ellen WeightWatcher 10 minute Power Walk to which I had added MUsic, also on the bungee.
Then some Ellen *Slim and Sleek Fast* and then some you tube Zumba routines which were to Kung Fu Fighting.
ETA:
April's online Nia class

If I have shared workouts with you on Dropbox, be sure to check the workout folder regularly because I am constantly adding and deleting files as needed. I cannot offer a public link because traffic is limited with a free account.
Then I did the Ellen WeightWatcher 10 minute Power Walk to which I had added MUsic, also on the bungee.
Finished with Jessica's third block of Cardio Dance Party and first Block of Dance Party to which I had added MUsic. Did some of the above sitting on the stability ball, with and without Fitstix.

Jessica and Nia
This morning I did Jessica's Dance Walk to which I had added MUsic, starting on the bungee then switching to the stability ball then mixing and matching the Fitstix with the floor, ball and bungee.
Next I did the last quarter of Nia's Awareness of the Shoulder Girdle and the first quarter of Nia's Awareness of the Head. Really enjoyed the latter! I was so into the Nia, I forgot to put the wet laundry in the dryer LOL Even did some of the Nia's Shoulders sitting on the ball in a Plies which definitely loosens my hips.
I like the combination of doing cardio then finishing with a feel good routine.
(There is a link to the Nia routines on the right)
ETA:
I just did this as a spark and it was so delicious I had to share it.
I found the videos on
and added MUsic from The Secret Garden and Bombay Dreams :)
The result was an energizing sitting abs which opened the joints as well. May try it next time on a stability ball. Just Try it!

Jessica and Nia
This morning I did Jessica Smith's Belly, Bun and Thigh Walk to which I had added music but paced myself, starting out on the bungee then off the bungee with Fitstix then some stability ball then back on the bungee and finished on the stability ball. I am finding the stability ball really helps me to open my tight hips.
Here's Jessica's original:
Then I started to visit Nia's Awareness of the Shoulder Girdle which felt really different and I really enjoyed it. The routine can be found at Nia Class Video - Awareness of Shoulder Girdle | Nia | A sensory-based movement practice that leads to health, wellness and fitness
Should have done something to the Beatle's song *When I'm 64* because I turned 64 today LOL
Just had a wonderful surprise, my sister who live in Florida just called to wish me a Happy Birthday! She had lots of good news about her family and sounded great after having experimental treatments for Alzheimer's as well as glaucoma surgery.

Jessica, German Hip Hop and Sarina
This morning I started with 10 minutes on the bungee then switched to the floor with Fitstix for the next 10 minutes because feeling too light-headed for the bungee. I moved with Jessica's Indoor Jogging to which I had added MUsic.
Next I did the first part of a Hip Hop routine that was in German on youtube to which I had added MUsic. This is the original routine:
I really like the pace and variety of the moves in this routine!!
Finished with the rest of the second chapter of The Barefoot Dancer Mother #8 then did the warmup from Mother #9
Had a great workout on a great day ....
Our baby's 28th birthday :)

Manuel, Jessica, Debbie
This morning I warmed up on the bungee with Manuel then did a Jessica Smith Living Room routine with Fitstix and a heavier Zumba stick and finished with alittle of Nia's Awareness of the Head. I had added MUsic to both Manuel's and Jessica's routines. May post more information about them later and possibly a clip or two or three :)
Right now am on the wrong pc to try and sweating like crazy.
I love freestyling to Manuel as a warmup, doing a bit of what he is doing then doing what I feel like doing with his style. This morning's routine definitely worked my lower body differently. Same with Jessica except I follow her more just changing the speed to enjoy the MUsic. Her routine really worked the core. Nia's Awareness of the Head has great new music and nice routines. I am going to try to get permission from Nia to upload their routines to youtube. They allow embedding and sharing on FaceBook from their online video site.
I have a link for their free online classes to the right -------------->
There's an overlap in the music because I added music to Jessica and Manuel around the same time when I had some new tunes to try.
I am copying and pasting what I posted on VF this morning:
The key to making it *Fun* for me has been the music.
Once you find your own key and unlock that door, it will never shut on you again and workingout will be the highlight of your day.
other keys:
Give yourself permission to have Fun and make it your #1 goal
Do what YOU want to do.
Just keep moving in ways that feel good to YOU.
You do not have to follow an instructor 100% (or even 50%)
Focusing on yourself in a mirror may enable doing your own thing more
Do not do something that *works* for somebody else unless you enjoy it
Avoid anything that creates Dread
Aim for feeling energized, not drained
keep Arnica gel handy for any twinges
Keep a list of moves to avoid which trigger twinges
do not worry about intensity
trust your own mind and body
(and the list goes on and on)
Most importantly if you didn't get enough sleep be kind to your body
Tomorrow is another day

Nia Awareness of Hip Joints 2
I did some of the Nia Awareness of Hip Joints and realized I lurved the second half.
Anywho now that I can use blogger again on our den dinosaur pc, I got an error message that was disconcerting: *system has recovered from a serious error* and this error message didn't go away till after restarting the pc but I did find a way to make it go away if it did reappear. Hope it isn't the beginning of the end for the den pc now that it seems to be good enough for what it is used for. Hate having to disconnect then reconnect everything for a new one.
There was a video on youtube about finding what you really want to do then do it instead of spending your life doing something you do not love just to earn money. Problem is most of us do not really know what we want to do and even if we did, it may not be possible to support ourselves on its income. We are fortunate to be retired and not struggling to cover expenses but we do have a lower standard of living than most people who have even less income. Alot of businesses would go bankrupt if needing our business like dry cleaners (ironically my dad's trade), jewelers, hair dressers, etc.
Exercise has been an interest of mine for over 13 years and sometimes, it was a bit expensive because I crave variety. I became to realize the key factors to make me MUve was the MUsic as well as moving in feel good ways..
Since I can physically exercise for only a limited amount of time a day and have alot of free time, I mentally exercise and enjoy discovering other routines and adding different music if the MUsic doesn't make me want to MUve. I like to share these routines with other people to maybe give them a few minutes of pleasure as well. I am too old to consider making a living this way as a personal trainer or workout video instructor BUT I do enjoy creating and sharing thanks to my laptop and youtube.
May do some more Nia or similar soon.

Unfortunately these classes are not available to share because the Nia folks want to be able to track the traffic on their website. They do not allow sharing of their OOP vhs because they do not own the music copyrights.
Download programs and sites keep changing their setup and various updates can affect download capability from day to day so I have to try a few different approaches if at first, I do not succeed. I am tenacious and just keep trying till I do succeed. Lately, it seems as though MP4 downloads work for me but flv downloads are getting harder and harder to accomplish. Sometimes using a different browser works.
I can use Freemake Video Downloader to download the newer classes because they just fixed a download glitch. Right click on the video to copy the url then paste that url when using Freemake Video Downloader.
Freemake Video Converter didn't work and Realplayer stopped working for me. If it works for you, Realplayer probably is the most compatible download program for the older Nia classes which I used before MS updates probably disabled Realplayer for me.
Firefox Download Helper worked with the older classes but not the newer ones for me but perhaps they have fixed that bug. They recently fixed their bug to download from DailyMotion.
You can also try download sites but avoid clicking on any advertisements.
My favorite is savefrom.net because I just use the top line to paste the url and click the yellow download button next to it then choose which file format I want. The file appears in my download folder. You do not need a special video player like the advertisement claims. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.
ETA 8/12/2016 today savefrom did not work but Chrome Video Downloader Professional extension did.
What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow and what didn't work yesterday may work tomorrow. For more info, check my *Downloading A Video* post in my Favorite Links

Enjoying my downloads
This morning I warmed up on the bungee to Jessica Smith's Toning Walk II which uses a band but chose an edited version with my own music (filemail download offered this past Friday). Then I did the band segment of Dana's Total Body Conditioning which I will revisit near the bungee next time cuz she tosses in alot of higher impact options.
Next I did the first 15 minutes of Nia's Awareness of Thigh Bones which was lovely with combos that alternated long strong thighs for stability and soft hips for loosening. For those who prefer to download a video file directly from a website instead of downloading the streaming video from Nia, I added that file to a filemail link yesterday.
Finished with CS802 and added in the nice hip stretch with a band which seemed to relieve my right hip nagging.

I just uploaded 2 more mixes for a total of 4 different mixes for Jessica Smith's Toning Walk II.

Nia's Awareness of Knees
This morning I warmed up on the bungee with youtube clips from Caitlin/bostonathleticclub then did most of Nia's Awareness of Knees.
Links to these are in recent posts.
I didn't sleep well because of aches and pains. Last evening for the second week in a row, my right inner thigh spasmed during True Blood at almost exactly the same time as last week! I did do some different movements as sparks yesterday since we bought a pedal device at Aldis so was cycling my legs then my arms in both directions while watching tv just before True Blood.
Anywho, the workouts I did kept me moving. I really enjoyed much of the movement in both routines in spite of feeling sleep deprived and twingey.
