About Edited Videos

This morning I had the displeasure of trying Chantal's new funky workout found on PowHow.  The music was horrible IMHO and the moves either too repetitive and/or totally not my thang with lots of freestyling.  If I want to freestyle, I can choose much better music.

Then I did an edited Michele Dozois which was great with my purple Zumba sticks.  The cardio intervals were great with the music I used too.

Yesterday I was disgusted by a critical comment about an edited video I had shared on WellVideo which is now one of my favorites because of the tunes I added. The person wanted to be able to hear the cuing and did not like the MUsic!  The original video happens to be on WellVideo already if the ignorant person would have searched for the title.
Editing videos and working out to loud music are my pleasures and the main reason why I upload to WellVideo is to store these files for streaming.   This person with a *sense of entitlement*  (she has made other unnecessary comments and demands about videos on Well) has never shared a single upload of her own!  So I unfriended her and made all of my edited files private to avoid reading anymore dumb comments made by her.

Ironically, she is one of the few people on WellVideo that I have met in person several years ago and if she ever read my blog, would understand my focus online.  It is not rocket science.

Short Update

Nothing much new to report.  I am still doing routines with either good music or edited with my own musical choices on the 550 bungee and stability ball.

My favorite streamed routines have been the Alchemy of Motion Soul Sweat videos on PowHow.
Still love Lucy but am looking forward to more from Tori and Sarah Jane.
(not a Chantal fan)

EMG has some good routines too including those by LB Kass, PlyoJam, and Jersey Kicks.
Also like the Jeni-Fit Piloxing videos I have seen.
I am assuming Jersey Kicks is located in NJ.
Ironically Jeni-Fit and LB Kass have classes in NJ!
(too bad I am not a *class* person LOL)

ETA: I forgot to mention that I love Lucy for adding two more workouts to celebrate the gay marriage decision.   However, if the Supreme Court Justices were truly in support of equal rights, the decision would have been passed unanimously 9-0 instead of 5-4.

Managing Stress

I have been trying to manage stress by avoiding triggers and having a half glass of wine before bed.  The edema in my left foot and right hand have greatly reduced and this morning, my blood pressure was the lowest it has been in a too long time.  I was afraid I was going to  have to accept a script for hypertension but obviously, I do not need one.  MY BP was lower than my husband's who is already on water pills.  Every Friday the pharmacy at our local A&P supermarket has these two sweet gals offering free blood pressure results and can keep a record for the customers if they would like to see how they are doing.  The gals were amazed how much better my BP was this week.  I much rather have wine than whine!
Speaking of less edema, since my hand was ready for some action, I tightened my JumpSport 550 cords to their tightest setting and really enjoyed the new bounce during two edited Jessica Smith walks where I mostly jogged and bounced.

If you would like to see some of my public workout videos on either DailyMotion or WellVideo, try googling *POMBarb*.

Feeling Better

Last night I took a Tylenol PM and slept well and woke up feeling much better than I have in weeks so

Some of my stress is from our terrible medical system.  I had a bone density done at the same time as a mammography, assuming it was free like previous ones.  I was shocked to find out the insurance plan now charges a $150 copay.   If I had known, I never would have had another bone density.
I received the bill for the copay last week but never received a result.  I called my doctor who was on vacation and his office could not find a result. I made several phone calls to the billing and medical records for the facility without any satisfaction.  I received a call from my doctor's office late last week that they have the results and I should call this week to get them from the doctor.  Well I called and my doctor does not have the results!  His system is supposed to have a direct connection with the radiology department and my results are not there!  Meanwhile, I had already paid the $150 like a jerk.  This is fraudulent.  The insurance company already paid a huge chunk towards the test too.  Now what would have happened if I never picked up the ball that they dropped?
What if it were a serious test with significant results?
This is why I will deal with my condition instead of going for tests and dealing with that stress.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lucky me just figured out what has been causing all of my physical complaints over my lifetime and culminating in a recent flare from the tingling in my extremities (including my right hand that had carpal tunnel repair), tinnitus, dizziness, dry eyes, dry mouth, Plantar fasciitis, and Golfers elbows, right up to a recent bout of edema in my left foot,  Most of this flare is obviously stress induced so I must start avoiding stress triggers.  How wonderful that my doctors ignored my complaints for years.

I just had to share this from another RA victim:
Remember be with those who bring out the best in you not the stress in you!!

Tori

After having a nice conversation with a new friend on WellVideo who gave me much to think about when I get a bad attitude from people I have tried to help, I did the PowHow Soul Sweat with Tori.  Tori was like a breath of fresh air.  She started by talking about how when she dances, she forgets about everything else especially hurtful words.  Her moves were easy to follow and tweak on both the 550 bungee and stability ball.  Her music included some favorites and some new tunes which could become favorites.  I really enjoyed the routine in contrast to a Chantal which was quite bland yesterday.  Tori has a very pleasant personality and it is hard to believe anyone would hurt her feelings intentionally.

The best part of WellVideo is meeting people from all over the world and realizing how similar people truly are no matter where they live.  Some feel good enough about themselves to have a good attitude towards others.  A few are simply not worth the time and energy to help because they can only help themselves to become a happier person inside before they can appreciate others.  Toxic people see *kindness as a weakness* probably because they are too unhappy to be kind.  Kindness cannot be taught.

One of my favorite sayings is
*It is your Attitude that counts most, not your Aptitude or Altitude.*

Another is
*Someone cannot get your goat unless you give it to them*.
I need to work harder on the latter LOL

(I am sharing my check-in on my WellVideo profile wall, Unfortunately, my profile is only shared with my friends in a private group so anyone who did not join this group when the enrollment was less restrictive are too late for the party)

Jessica Smith

A few years ago when Jessica Smith first started posting workouts on her jessicasmithtv youtube channel, I became an instant fan.   I loved her personality and creativity.  Then I started adding music to my routines because MUsic seemed to make me MUve.  Jessica was limited in what music she could use to keep her youtube account unblemished whereas I started using whatever music I wanted.  OK so my youtube account got deleted because of a song that later became cleared for use but too late to restore my account.   Youtube is very finicky which songs are allowed and which are not depending on their contracts with various recording companies.  Also different countries have different restrictions.   It is a legal maze to determine which songs are safe worldwide and which are not.

I need music and Jessica understands that but is limited.  I have supported her youtube channel with donations and have bought every dvd she had in her store directly from her to show my support.

I do like her DVDs but actually prefer her edited youtube files.
There is just something about her simple moves and my music that creates something magical for me.
Proof in point, a couple of years ago I had terrible Plantar Fasciitis and knee trouble.  The files I made replacing audio kept me moving, even if just sitting on a chair.  If I had not found this combo of editing jessicasmithtv with music,  I doubt I would have kept moving.

Recently, I have not been feeling well because of stress and frustration with my physical limitations.  Yesterday morning I was ready to toss in the towel and give up trying to feel better.
Popped in an edited jessicasmithtv file and suddenly, the lyrics of the songs I had chosen were speaking to me and Jessica's wonderful simple movement just clicked.  My pity party was replaced with a real party.  My mood shifted 180 degrees, energy returned, and I went from the bottom of the ladder to the top in my feeling of well being.  I did more of these files this morning and enjoyed them on the 550 bungee and my stability ball,  Yesterday, I did them sitting on a chair because I felt so weak and light-headed.  The songs repeated a bit because I was trying out some new content in the same time period of editing.

I just wanted to share what has kept me moving in spite of physical obstacles and emotional stress.

How to Trim a Video with Freemake Video Converter

Trim off the beginning you do not want by inserting the end bracket ] where you want the cut to end then click the scissors icon to cut the selection.

Cut off the end you do not want by inserting the beginning bracket [ at the start of the part you want removed and move the slider to the end of the video to insert the end bracket ] and click the scissors icon to cut the selection.

To remove a center clip, put the beginning bracket [ at the beginning of the selection to be cut and the end bracket ] at the end of the selection then click the scissors icon to cut the selection.

Click OK lower right corner and play the video to ensure your intention was successful before converting the file.

Here's alittle video by Freemake to demonstrate cutting

It isn't necessary to insert the [ at the beginning as they show just the ] where you want to start your video. Their technique is more for how to cut out a center part of the video.

Also they do not show how to trim off the end so just follow what I typed above LOL
Once you get the hang of it, it becomes really simple.

The New Well Video Privacy Options

WellVideo is going through a major transition after adding more privacy settings.  As a result many inactive members will be losing their access to the more privately shared videos.  I, myself, have decided not to share with as many friends so removed a few friendships and will be pickier about any new friendships.  If I had stayed officially its moderator, I would have felt obligated to accept all friendship requests which would have been very stressful and would have greatly limited my privacy options.  I have also limited my profile to *friends only* to avoid unwanted requests and messages.  So thanks to the few toxic members who had crossed my path, that Moderator hat had already been removed.  How is that for making lemonade out of lemons!
(or making great preserves out of the spoiled apples)

Ironically, some of my closest online workout buddies never got on board with WellVideo and are now considered *inactive* on Well.  Since we are Well Friends, I can still share my private videos with them even though they may lose access to most of the private content on Well.  However, they may need a direct link to some of my videos.
(HINT: To stay active on WellVideo either make a donation towards the storage expense and/or upload some videos immediately.  To donate: sign on then message the Administrator http://wellvideo.net/users/admin

Of course, I will be avoid Friending anyone who does not understand my intentions.  The saying
*With friends like those who needs enemies?* comes to mind.

ETA: I have finally learned to use the word *No* after 66 years of being a people pleaser and am finding the word easier to use, the more I use it.  I spent so many hours a day doing things for total strangers online and now am shifting the focus back to myself and my own needs.  Ironically, I am finding some very generous people who have been so darn good to me even though I have done little for them.  Closing the doors on one-sided friendships enabled me to open the windows and have fresh air with new truly generous people.

After sharing videos, workout tips, and tech tips for over 15 years,  I have decided to spend the rest of my online time in retirement on the WellVideo.net site where I have found many friends who appreciate my efforts and love to share.  I may blog about a special offer now and then but otherwise, I am done with toxic people and one-sided relationships.

Lucy Lucy Lucy

I really Love Lucy LOL

Some of the moves she did this morning worked great on the bungee and others great on the ball.  It is the freshest workout style I have tried in a long time.  Nia-like moves tweaked to be more unique with more contemporary MUsic.  I think I am loving Lucy more than Carlos?!?  Chantal still moves like Chantal in her original Soul Sweat DVD with fancier foot patterns whereas Lucy does more whole body feel good moves.  One day if I ever start to truly stream routines to my large HDTV,  I may even subscribe to Lucy's PowHow bundle.

I also enjoyed a medball routine led by Amy Dixon which I may edit with MUsic.

(ETA:  I had more Lucy gushing on the day after the post above but will refrain not to pour salt on the wound of those who have not had the wonderful opportunity of trying the routine I finished this morning.   I, honestly, do not know why these are not selling better other than restricted to streaming.  I find Lucy amazing and much more creative than most instructors who charge more for streams.)
