Fun Fun Fun

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to Blanche Black's Bouncin in the House but just did the first week short routine.  Then I did Kukuwa's Tween routine on her Youth DVD,  some on the bungee and/or with Fitstix.   Then I did the Easy Aerobics to which I added MUsic on the bungee and WOW, was I ever into it! LOL
It was a real Party in a Box :)

ETA: Today's spark was the first cardio block in Bellyfit Elements Water which didn't click for me as well as the first cardio block in Fire.  Neither the moves nor the music were as much fun for me.

Kudos to the Brave

I do have to mention that every workout instructor I have contacted about placing a sample of their current work or full versions of their OOP stuff on youtube have been totally supportive.  Even if I had the appearance (and youth) to make a workout video, myself, my skin simply isn't thick enough to handle the negative reactions of some people.  These heroes are really brave to expose themselves and usually lose more money than they make on these ventures.  Just wanted to thank them for sharing their talent and passion with the world.  When I find a new work of art in the form of a dvd workout, I prefer to buy it directly from its creator to help finance future work.  It is their blood, sweat and tears going into their projects so I am willing to pay a few more dollars.  Yes, I have been burnt overpaying for some workouts I wouldn't have brought into my home for free but it is worth the risk for the treasures I do find.

As a spark yesterday I tried some of Bellyfit Fire and really liked it!

ETA: This morning I did some of Angie Miller's Absolute Beginners on the bungee with Fitstix and my own MUsic then Michelle Dozois Next Move Total Body with my heavier Zumba stix and finished with some more of Nia Awareness of Spine.

Rant

This morning I did a Leslie using bands attached to the shoes and still used the bungee a bit with it. It was the second mile from a set with Leslie doing two of the miles with bands which I found on youtube and then added my own MUsic.  Again the MUsic kept me MUving but I haven't uploaded this routine and its MUsic to youtube because I am afraid to upload anything with Leslie Sansone in case Gaiam owns it.  I have been deleting any videos which may draw any copyright complaints because the not so kind people from Zumba gave me a copyright strike for videos that are totally not available for sale, even though there are plenty of more current Zumba sets on youtube.  I can only upload short videos for the next 6 months which makes uploading more tedious.

To add insult to injury, a subscriber complained about a video I uploaded to youtube because the MUsic replaced the original's cuing.  All they had to do was search the channel and they would have found the same video with its original audio which I had also bothered to upload in this particular case.  Do not expect me to bother uploading anymore videos I am not planning to do myself on youtube with this ridiculous size restriction.

I started uploading videos to youtube for my own use and at first, I didn't make any youtube uploads public because somebody criticized the MUsic I had added to a workout on my blog.  Then I decided I would share my uploads with those who also appreciated MUsic.   I have spent alot of time uploading stuff with original audio I am not even going to use myself and do not get any compensation for my efforts.  To criticize my MUsic additions which was the original intent of my youtube channel is just rude.

ETA: It was my generous nature that got me the strike on youtube because I obviously own those workouts I was attempting to share and really didn't need them to be uploaded to youtube for my own use.

Free Advertising

I have many dvds with instructors who are not as well known as those sold by large online workout distributors so created a new Playlist showing samples of their workouts and offering information about their online stores.  In most cases, I was given direct permission to use these samples online.

Also my totally OOP Zumbas (Rapidos and Kelloggs Special K videos) drew a copyright strike, even though nobody can buy them through Zumba anymore. In fact, two of them were only offered on VHS! Because of that strike,  I have to keep my uploaded videos under 15 minutes for the next 6 months. Also I have to be extra careful not to draw anymore strikes.  It is rather odd how there are current Zumba sets uploaded on the internet but I cannot show totally Out-Of-Print material?

Kukuwa

I will be revisiting Kukuwa the next couple of days

Clips of Kukuwa's newest dvds can be found in her store
http://www.kukuwadanceworkout.com/shop.php

You can also purchase Her dvds through her Amazon store
http://www.amazon.com/shops/ARX3Z6KHFBLBR

ETA: I also will be uploading short clips of Kukuwa's newest dvds and more info soon.

This morning I did Kukuwa's Intermediate workout on her *Move your Boombsey: Adults* dvd, on and off the bungee.  Of course, I didn't match its intensity but it is easy to modify downwards and you do catch a glimpse of the gal in yellow & black doing lower impact to help.  I am posting a sample of the first two songs so you can get a sampling of their moves and music.
The dvd is nicely chaptered with two separate workouts and instructions for both Intermediate/Beginners and Advanced workouts.  Also you can skip forward or back, song to song, within each workout.  Each song has its own routine. You use your whole body in these, including the core. I prefer to keep the feet rather still on the bungee and focus on the upper body and core.

Intermediate Adults Sample:

After Kukuwa, I did more of Cramped Quarters for the lower body.

Here's a sample of the Advanced Adults workout:

Here's a sample of the Kids workout on the Move Your Boombsey Youth dvd:

Tweens sample:

Teens Sample:

These samples were approved by Kukuwa.

Merry Christmas

This morning I did some of Gin Miller's Cramped Quarters on the bungee then the Leslie Sansone Mile 1 to which I had added MUsic from Bombay Dreams which I really enjoyed on and off the bungee with Fitstix.  This Mile 1 with some of the Bombay Dreams soundtrack has not and will not be uploaded to youtube.

There are plenty of low impact workouts already uploaded on my channel.  With close to 400 videos already uploaded, you should be able to find something there every day of the year to enjoy.
Just peek at all of the playlists.  Even the Fitstix playlist with MUsic added offers great alternatives to Leslie.
My youtube channel's main focus is for me to have access to Out-Of-Print workouts with added MUsic which do not draw copyright blocks.  There's plenty of even newer Leslies on youtube if you search for them on other channels which have escaped any copyright disputes.

Deleted Videos on filemail

I had to delete all of the recent Leslie Sansone videos because Gaiam had them blocked on youtube.

I will not be uploading anymore Leslie Sansone videos to youtube because some are going on to compilation dvds with Gaiam's licensing and can compromise my youtube account.

Waiting and Waiting

We are expecting UPS to deliver son's new laptop today (his first pc for his bedroom) so I couldn't workout in our basement where I may not hear the doorbell.  We'll probably get it after 5PM after waiting all day and staying home so we can sign for it.

First I did Leslie Sansone's Holiday Walk second segment because the 1st and 3rd wouldn't play on our HDTV Youtube app so I am guessing it blocks all copyrighted material, not just the videos blocked in Germany.  Bummer :(
This 4 Mile Weightloss Workout done in Leslie's living room is so much better than her newer same old moves over and over again stuff IMHO.  Have to wonder why she gave up being more creative.  Do not understand how so many fans have so many of her workouts that all seem to sound the same.  Anywho I may add new music to 4 Mile Weightloss after the holidays since it is my favorite Leslie for its variety of movements.

Then I did some of the Caribbean Calypso workout.

Today's project so far will be Michelle Dozois Walk Your Way Slim because I always liked the moves but needed different MUsic.  Then may share some lesser known workouts I liked which many vidiots may have missed.

Almost Forgot

Almost forgot to share what I did today.
This morning I did the Merry Christmas BuffGirl, Irish NextMove Lower Body, and various vhs sparks to see which I may try to capture.  Used the bungee a bit as well as my heavier Zumba toning stix.

Adding MUsic

So many workouts with boring music and/or annoying chatter are greatly improved when adding music.

I wish I could say adding music is simple but I use Windows Movie Maker to add the songs and it can be tricky. Not only can I add as many songs as I want but I can choose where to begin the next song.

Freemake Video Converter will add only one song at a time.
A simple solution would be to rip a whole soundtrack you like from a whole youtube video with Freemake by converting the download to MP3 then using that whole MP3 file as your audio on another video.
(If you download Freemake Video Converter from www.freemake.com
you can refuse the extra software programs in the download by unchecking their boxes.)

If there is a song you do not like, you can download the video, trim the video to remove the song then convert the video to MP3.
Also you can remove the previous audio from a video file by choosing *no audio* from the audio drop down menu if you want to completely remove the chatter before adding your own music.

An even simpler trick, if you are actually workingout to a streamed video or dvdr, just mute it and play your own music while working out.

Nia Awareness of Spine

The Nia online class Awareness of Spine is posted on their blog and can be downloaded with Realplayer at
http://www.nianow.com/blog
or

Leslie Sansone

I am not a fan of Leslie Sansone unless I add MUsic to her workouts.

Oh Well

So after doing the WeightWatcher Next Move Cardio Core with MUsic added, I decided to do the third segment of Leslie's 4 mile routine to which I had added Holiday MUsic because Cardio Core was too similar to Buffgirl.  Used the bungee on and off with both routines and Fitstix as well as one of my heavier Zumba Stix with the Holiday Walk.  The heavier Zumba stix were a surprise Hanuka gift from two special VFers.

Happy Holidays

I just had to share this one with y'all.
Hope to do Merry Christmas Buffgirl  myself tomorrow:

MUsic again to the Rescue

This morning my workout was really dragging till I ended it with a Jessica Smith Toning Walk with a band to which I had added MUsic, again proving MUsic is what makes me MUve:

Anywho, I started the workout with the first Cardio from Angie Gorr's Custom 3 Fit 50/50 Cardio & Weights which did work well on the bungee then did the second cardio from Angie Miller's Absolute Beginner's which had mostly moves seen in a zillion other workouts so didn't click like the third cardio had for me yesterday.  I really needed MUsic added for this one.  Then I did some of the weights on Miller's Strength & Core Fusion before finishing with Jessica.

Will not be uploading to youtube in the coming days, focusing on editing and adding MUsic to dvd chapters available retail for my own personal use.  I just cannot get into most workouts without MUsic lately.  Unfortunately, I'm stuck with the soundtracks on the vhs that I cannot capture.

Plyorobics Challenge

I had to remove the 2 Zumbando Kellogg's workouts and the 2 Zumba Rapidos because of copyright infringement, even though those routines are not available for sale.... bummer.

My first youtube copyright strike :(

Leslie Alternative!

I am totally burnt out on Leslie Sansone so I was excited to find a perfect alternative in *Absolute Beginners Cardio & Strength Training Workout for Seniors with Angie Miller*.
This dvd should have been marketed as a walking workout for EVERYONE.

This morning I started with the WeightWatchers' Next Move Ultimate Cardio with Michelle Dozois and found it didn't hold my attention or make me feel like moving for the first 10 minutes though it improved in the second half.  First half moves were way too repetitive for me.  Then I popped in Angie's dvd expecting more of the same and was pleasantly surprised.  The moves are rebounder and Fitstix friendly and not overly repetitive.  Finished with some band work on another Angie DVD: Strength & Core Fusion.

I uploaded the WeightWatcher's Next Move Ultimate Cardio with and without added MUsic to youtube.  Hopefully the MUsic will keep me moving next time.  I did like the Next Move Lower Body which I did as a spark last evening.

Switching Equipment instead of DVD Players

This morning I started with Caribbean Rebounding to great MUsic
then did some of the standing part of Body Lift with Liz Gilles.

Finished with Ellen's 10 minute Walk with MUsic and used my Fitstix:

Because of the Play Station2 annoying stutter while using the bungee in the living room, I switched to the basement for the other two routines and decided to switch the bungee back to the basement so I can enjoy my MUsic more without the PS2 stutter and LOUDER instead of just switching the PS2 with the den dvd player.

Cardio ShapeUp Walk

This morning I did the Chris Freytag Walking Cardio ShapeUp which was on Exercise TV but I added mostly Broadway MUsic to it and really enjoyed it!  My MUsic added video wasn't uploaded to youtube because the routine is on a dvd which is available retail:
Walking Cardio Shape Up Max.

I used my bungee, heavier Zumba Stix and Fitstix.

Here's the original:

Ellen 30 min Walk

This morning I did Ellen's 30 minute Walk from the Weight Watcher's kit.  I had added MUsic to it and it was the MUsic that kept me moving. I did some of Ellen's moves but then did more of my own moves, some on the bungee, some with a single heavier Zumba stix and some with Fitstix.  I kept moving for 30 minutes and really enjoyed the music.  I was quite surprised how good I was feeling during and after the workout because I woke up feeling out of sorts.

Busy Little Beaver -Me

This morning I did some of Blanche Black's Bouncing in the House on the bungee then some of Ellen's SELF Slim and Sleek Fast.  Neither have been or will be uploaded to youtube till no longer available retail.

I have been replacing workout video audio tracks and uploading to youtube like crazy.  Mostly uploading out of print VHS and a couple of workout TV shows with and without MUsic added. Some of my MUsic added videos are not being uploading to youtube because the original footage is still available on dvd.
I am also trying to not only organize the videos into playlists but also tagging them with key words so a channel search can find specific videos because there are so many videos uploaded.

Saturday, December 15, 2012

Ooops I Did It Again

I started out well doing the 3rd mile with MUsic added of Leslie's 123 Super Fatburner on the bungee while wearing my tubing belt, really getting into the African MUsic and giving the moves a few tweaks, making it feel like a Kukuwa Walk.

Then started doing the Greenday Play Ball using my new heavier Zumba Toning Sticks/stix.  Am finding them definitely the best sliding filler option in my arsenal.  One feels even heavier than 2 Fitstix.  Best of all, my joints haven't complained since using them like regular dumb bells.  Between holding them in the center or with two hands on either end, they are much more comfortable than any XCO trainer could be.

Anywho when taking a laundry break, started looking for a workout or two I wanted to do soon and wound up looking for over an hour without finding either.  I think it slipped somewhere out of sight :(

ETA:
I am refocusing my vhs capturing to saving videos I have dubbed on to vhs which will not be uploaded to youtube because their dvds are still selling retail.  Many are from TV broadcasts because I still record on vhs, not having a dvr.  Ironically, my capture device works better than a few of my vcrs so I may as well capture and burn my favorites to dvdr while I can.

Very Exciting Day so far

I found out Ellen Barrett shared my Zen Sculpt youtube upload on her Facebook page so we became friends and I posted the Slo-robics youtube and the filemail links.  She doesn't have footage of her earlier stuff but seems supportive of me uploading more OOP Ellen footage so there is more Ellen coming.

I have been reorganizing my playlists so they flow better and my channel is starting to almost have a life of its own.   Youtube has allowed me to post most workouts larger than 15 minutes up to 2 gigs with very little blocking except for Germany.  Some old vhs footage actually look better on youtube than on my captured from vhs video files.  Many of my vhs were on the verge of becoming unusable so youtube has been a real Godsend.

This morning I finished Donna Richardson's Sweating to the Spirit on the bungee then finished the original NIA then did some of Mary Kay's mile on the bungee holding both heavier toning sticks then just one, adding my own moves to the MUsic like figure8s/infinity arms.  The heavier Zumba stick is very comfortable to use as a single weight holding the ends.

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Sweating then really Sweating

This morning I did some more Sweating in the Spirit, mostly on the bungee and sometimes holding my new heavier Zumba Toning Sticks.  Then I did some more of the original NIA workout which I couldn't upload to youtube but may try again because it just feels so good and produces alot of Sweat!

Ever since my last doctor's visit when it was confirmed I had gained a couple of pounds over the year, I decided to stop the trend and have become more careful about eating since I have to eat something every two hours or I feel hypoglycemic.  I have dropped 4 pounds in under 3 weeks so will keep doing what I have been doing.  Still having my chocolate, just smaller portions of everything each meal and minimal empty calories. Key word being Fiber.

OMG

I just received a surprise Hanuka gift from 2 other vidiots!

I am now the proud owner of a pair of the heavier Zumba Toning Sticks!
No more homemade XCOs made out of large potato chip cans,
luckily before one of them opened spilling rock salt and pennies all over the place.

They are so much nicer to hold too.

I cannot take all of the credit for what I upload to youtube and share on the blog. There are many other VideoFitness fans and former TaeBo fans who have contributed to my content and kept me moving and collecting.
So thank you all for sharing
and a special THANKS to the two Secret Hanuka Santas.

ETA:
I also want to thank you guys for helping me to lose a couple of extra pounds by running up and down 2 flights of stairs to get workouts to capture on my laptop throughout the day.

Played Ball

This morning I warmed up with a fun Zumba youtube routine on the bungee

then I did the medicine ball segment of Sarah City's Kimberly Spreen Play Ball which I believe is OOP so may upload at least that chapter to youtube after trying MUsic with it.
Right now I am working on an OOP Leslie Sansone vhs 123Mile Supoer Fatburner.

Fit TV Ellen Barrett Episodes

Fit TV was replaced when OWN took over.  It had a series called All Star Workouts which also was broadcasted on Discovery Health for awhile.  Ellen Barrett who has a huge fan base did two episodes:Zen Sculpt and Slo-robics, both of which are not available to all of her fans.

Well, put a few workout vidiots together and Voila!
I just got finished doing the upright portion of Slo-robics streamed from youtube on my HDTV and really enjoyed it!

World Dance Capoeira WO

Dance Capoeira Workout dvd with Paula Verdino for those who are curious about this dvd, it is available at
http://worlddancenewyork.com/products/the-capoeira-workout#.UMPNwYN5KoZ
I liked the warm up but otherwise, much prefer CapoFlex which is available at collagevideo.

DR and Nia

This morning I started revisiting the original Donna Richardson Sweating in the Spirit which I had finally found in my ridiculously huge workout collection.  It was released along with Old School Dance Party which was available on collagevideo till recently but is now sold out and The Brazilian workout which still has a few vhs copies available through Amazon.

Note: this Sweating in the Spirit was not the retail Sweating in the Spirit sold in stores along with volume 2 which was actually #3.  Few people are aware of this first original workout.  The retail pair are still available through collagevideo.

This morning I also started revisiting the original Nia workout

Total Dance Fitness

There is a new class at Gold's gym called Total Dance Fitness which is described as

"Total Dance Fitness
TDF is a low impact, fun-filled, energetic cardio dance class mixing movements and music genres such as African, Caribbean, Hip/Hop, Latin and R&B plus Line Dances that will have you be the "life" at any party!!!  Guaranteed to improve fitness levels from head to toe.  Come on...lets dance, sweat, have fun and make some noise - HEY!!!"

Here is a clip of a class:
class starts around 1:50 into the clip

It reminds me alot of Kukuwa!

MUsic makes a difference

This is something I wrote this morning on www.videofitness.com in response to somebody having  stress because of her current employment options and not getting what she needed from her usual workout choice to relieve some of that stress:

Moving to music is what keeps me out of a funk.
Bottomline, if a workout isn't helping your mood, try another.

Just recently, our world was a bit turned upside down when Sandy hit our area and we lost electricity for a week. To go outside for a walk was darn dangerous with tree limbs constantly threatening to fall as well as wires down. People were driving haphazardly because of debris. There were gas and food shortages. Our area looked like a war torn area for a good few weeks. I even missed a visit with our son who lives in London and was in NYC that week. There was no mass transit and our cell phone tower was more down than up.

True, we had a roof over our head and plenty of canned goods and compared to many, we were darn lucky. I still got into a funk and it was going deeper and deeper each day. The only thing that kept my sanity was my laptop and some workouts with music I had on it. I rationed myself 10 to 15 minutes a day and my battery lasted till electricity was restored. I cannot describe how that 10 minutes of *normalcy* restored me.

I couldn't relate day-to-day on this blog how my workout video files with music were helping me cope because we had no internet.  It took me quite a few weeks to feel completely *normal* again.  MUsic doesn't just keep me moving but relieves stress and lifts my mood.  If your workout isn't doing that for you, find another.  Just visit my youtube channel till you click on something that makes you want to MUve.

ETA:
I just did the first segment of Leslie's Holiday walk on and off the bungee then the UR then the tilted Body Burner, sometimes holding Fitstix and worked up a good sweat then did Richard Simmons Uptown, working my upper body with a short ring type band.

Thursday, December 6, 2012

LUrving MUving

This morning I warmed up on the bungee with Fitstix to the first Richard Simmons PUMP n Sweat routine with Peter, Paul and Mary songs.  I felt like a teenager again :)
Then I did Richard's standing part of *No Ifs Ands or Butts* on our HDTV with a youtube app and got so into it, I banged my shin on our coffee table LOL
No worries Arnica gel to the rescue.
I finished with Janis Saffell and Scott Cole youtube video.

New Filemail Link

(I had to delete just about everything here because all about youtube and filemails)

Future Filemails Coming

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to Body Gospel then did some of Troy De Mond's TNT

I found Jig Don't Jog already uploaded on youtube!
(so now I do not have to upload my vhs)

Monday, December 3, 2012

BG and Nia

This morning I did some Body Gospel on the bungee then finished Nia Awareness of Joints.  I am hoping to go for a walk today because we are having spring-like weather.

ETA:
New additions to my youtube channel are Joannie Greggains Holiday Workout and her Classical Workout, Gin Miller's Waltz to Fitness, 2 band workouts by Troy De Mond (Just Pump I.T. and TNT), Richard Simmons Pump n Sweat and Step n Sweat with MUsic added.
Last evening Cher and Keli Roberts A New Attitude was added.

I highly recommend Richard Simmons No Ifs, Ands or Butts
It is alot of fun and works the lower body aerobically.

CF, LS, Carlos

This morning I did the rest of Chris Freytag's Core workout to which I had added Greenday music then alittle of a private video I made for myself because youtube banned it.  It was Leslie's Walk & Jog with music added but the visual content was blocked by Gaiam even though it came from another company's vhs. Did all of the above on the bungee, sometimes holding my sliding weight swords (large Walmart bubble wands partially filled with rocksalt).
Finished with the wonderful Nia Brown Belt class set to songs from Bombay Dreams which actually made me sweat more than the bungee stuff??

Saturday, December 1, 2012

TB, JS, CF and Nia

Today's workouts were a TaeBo Pay-per-View, a Jessica Smith lower body and a Core workout by Chris Freytag, all of which had added music on my youtube channel.  Much was done on the bungee with homemade XCOs (large Pringle cans partially filled with rocksalt).
I finished with the middle part of Nia Awareness of Joints which had alot of unique moves.

All Over the House workout

I finally felt better this morning than I have in a long time as far as energy.
First I started moving when checking my last two blog uploads on previous posts (Denise Standing Pilates and Jenny March) which worked well on my den dinosaur pc even in full screen so I wound up pushing the chair back and doing both with the speakers blasting.  Was even able to do the March of the Wooden Soldiers two rooms away on the bungee.  I am labeling some workouts uploaded to just my blog and not on youtube as *private video*.  This way I do not have to worry about any being *blocked in Germany* like my favorite music selections usually are.  Twice videos which were probably intended to be blocked in Germany were blocked in the US instead.  It was probably just a glitch since I disputed and had both unblocked in the US but rather avoid that hassle.  I do not want to push my luck too far with youtube's generous policies.  The only negative is by choosing to upload directly to this blog, I have to keep the file much smaller.

Then I switched to the living room bungee and did a couple of songs from Body Gospel with music louder while bouncing and doing most of Donna's moves. I may capture some of one song in particular to share it

If you didn't get this Body Gospel set yet and missed out on the Beachbody Black Friday discount, I would be patient for a similar discount down the road. I am Jewish and could easily skip over the prayer segments.

Then I switched to the basement and did some of Anna's routine on The Biggest Loser Calorie Knockout with music only and using homemade XCOs.  Sorry but I cannot stand Anna's voice but the music is pretty good so works for me :)

Finished while still in the basement with the first 15 minutes or so of Nia Awareness of Joints which I had burned to dvdr. The best part of that choice was the video is sooo much better when I play it on my cheap Craig dvd player which allows me to zoom times 4.  It made an online class look like a real dvd production.  I am going to try to finish all workouts with a zoomed Nia class segment or even do some Nia sparks.  It may also have worked well on my HDTV through youtube since I can zoom my tv but probably will not bother to upload all of the Nias to youtube.

ETA: Nia Awareness of Joints was burned to a dvdr which also has many wonderful warmups/cooldowns on it that I had collected so I may upload some of them to youtube or the blog eventually.  It can be found on the Nia blog or at Nia Class Video - Awareness of Joints | Nia | A sensory-based movement practice that leads to health, wellness and fitness

Jingo

My OOP Jingo vhs dated 1997 has been one of my favorite routines but I have hesitated to do it fearing the vhs could self-destruct in a vcr at anytime.  So I decided to capture it and upload it to youtube to share it with others since Nia no longer sells it in their store.  My man Carlos leads it and some segments are so much fun.  I was already hooked on Nia with the original workout but Jingco made me an eternal fan.

This morning I just did alittle bouncing to Michelle LeMay's Gospel Aerobics before my annual doctor's visit.  Did not get any indication of what may be causing my bouts of hypoglycemia but maybe something will turn up in the blood test results.  Was just told to eat when feeling that way.  Of course, the doctor is old school and wants me to go for a bunch of unnecessary tests like a bone density and paps smear.  I did accept the flu vaccine for the first time because having had the flu a couple of times in my lifetime, do not want to suffer through it again.

I do not like how I felt all morning having skipped even the few sips of coffee I had been having each morning as well as any food since last night's dinner.  At least I didn't have a caffeine withdrawal headache.  Now that I have eaten and had my sips of coffee, am feeling much better and may do a real workout later.  Maybe even Jingo or parts of Jingo :)

I made myself alittle gift to keep on my laptop to do in the bedroom.
It is a Standing Pilates routine led by Denise Austin found on youtube but I played some of my favorite songs in the background.

Monday, November 26, 2012

Body Gospel & Another Chair Routine

I decided to revisit some Body Gospel and wound up doing the whole Power and Praise band routine plus the warmup of the other routine Gospel Glory on the dvd.  Worked up a nice sweat and will do more of the second routine on the bungee later.  I have been worried that I have been losing stamina lately but this routine felt easier than I had remembered.

Tomorrow is my annual physical and I am hoping that my bouts of fatigue or hypoglycemia, especially before lunch do not have an underlying serious medical condition brewing.  I have cutback on my morning coffee substantially to avoid peaks and then plunging levels of energy too.

More OOP VHS Uploaded

all youtube uploads on this post have been deleted

OOP vhs

This morning I did a Leslie Jog and Walk with pumping MUsic added which unfortunately youtube had banned.  Probably because Gaiam has downloads of it selling on Amazon and own the visual copyrights, even though Gaiam did not produce the vhs I used for capturing.  Next I did the second part of Nia Awareness of the Hip Joints.

Jogging to Movies

I added some MUsic soundtracks from movies to Leslie's Too Busy to Workout and think it is a winner!

Nia Awareness of Hip Joints 2

I did some of the Nia Awareness of Hip Joints and realized I lurved the second half.

Anywho now that I can use blogger again on our den dinosaur pc, I got an error message that was disconcerting: *system has recovered from a serious error* and this error message didn't go away till after restarting the pc but I did find a way to make it go away if it did reappear.  Hope it isn't the beginning of the end for the den pc now that it seems to be good enough for what it is used for.  Hate having to disconnect then reconnect everything for a new one.

There was a video on youtube about finding what you really want to do then do it instead of spending your life doing something you do not love just to earn money.  Problem is most of us do not really know what we want to do and even if we did, it may not be possible to support ourselves on its income.  We are fortunate to be retired and not struggling to cover expenses but we do have a lower standard of living than most people who have even less income.  Alot of businesses would go bankrupt if needing our business like dry cleaners (ironically my dad's trade), jewelers, hair dressers, etc.
Exercise has been an interest of mine for over 13 years and sometimes, it was a bit expensive because I crave variety. I became to realize the key factors to make me MUve was the MUsic as well as moving in feel good ways..
Since I can physically exercise for only a limited amount of time a day and have alot of free time, I mentally exercise and enjoy discovering other routines and adding different  music if the MUsic doesn't make me want to MUve.  I like to share these routines with other people to maybe give them a few minutes of pleasure as well.  I  am too old to consider making a living this way as a personal trainer or workout video instructor BUT I do enjoy creating and sharing thanks to my laptop and youtube.

May do some more Nia or similar soon.

Basement Workout

Since I was doing a laundry in the basement, I decided to do the morning workout down there because I haven't worked out down there for quite awhile, preferring the bungee in the living room or the HDTV for youtube in the den.

I started with some  Jazzercise Burlesque then did some Sole Synthesis for the lower body then did some Konditioning Katami bar for the core and finished with CS.  I did miss my MUsic even though I liked one Jazzercise song and the CS music but will resist adding MUsic to any of these because I couldn't upload any onto youtube anyways.  I'll try to enjoy my youtube stuff and bungee as sparks later in the day.

ETA: To enable easier viewing of current posts,
I am now limiting the main page to 5 posts.
I was having trouble loading the blog on my dinosaur pc so figured others maybe had memory problems and/or shockwave crashes as well.

Happy Thanksgiving :)

This morning I had a choice of looking at the glass half empty or half full.
Our home was the usual destination for our family on Thanksgiving, having as many as 15 seats at the table.  Today it is just three.
Some have passed away and others have moved away, including our older son in London.

BUT I am grateful for having power, heat and an oven to cook the traditional dinner and will appreciate the plentiful leftovers.
Most of all the smells.  The same smells that filled the home when I was a child.
Also have a large screen HDTV for the first time for the Macy's parade and Broadway show numbers.
So my glass is looking even more than half full.

This morning I did (on the bungee with Fitstix) the TaeBo workout with MUsic added which I am disputing on youtube for being blocked in the US and some of the newest Nia Awareness of Hip Joints.  Both videos are embedded on previous posts.

ETA:
Sparks were some John Abdo walks and some Gospel Aerobics.

New Nia online!

The Awareness of the Hips is now online:

Nia Class Video - Awareness of Hip Joints | Nia | A sensory-based movement practice that leads to health, wellness and fitness

Turkey Day video

a new Hamelin!!!

Pre-Turkey Day

This morning I did the Fitstix Fusion segment to which I had added music (mostly Cher tunes) that was led by the other two instructors and really enjoyed it :)
The gal almost looked like she was singing!
Remember you do not need real Fitstix to enjoy these workouts.
They are very rebounder friendly and you can use any hand weight or none.
However, I do like using Fitstix because they make it more fun and do not aggravate my joints.

Loving Fitstix Fusion

I am really enjoying the Fitstix Fusion routines to which I added music, on and off the bungee.  I now realize the main deterrent to doing these routines was unfortunately the instructor's voice.  It's sad because otherwise, her MUves are very creative and fun.

So this morning I produced a sweat with the 4th Fusion routine.
I am going to try to use Germany blocked stuff just for the bungee and anything I want to do using our HDTV to be Germany acceptable on youtube.  I separated the TaeBoTV playlists into Billy counting and MUsic added then put the German blocked MUsic added ones to the bottom.  Also made a Fitstix Playlist :)

Some Tech Problems

For some reason, I can no longer upload directly to youtube.  It may be the size of the files but Freemake will upload them to youtube for me and break them down automatically to under 15 minutes each plus automatically make a playlist for each file broken down.  I also noticed I cannot play the files that are blocked in Germany because of copyright issues on my HDTV so may be avoiding the music that prevents this access for stuff I want to do in the den.

Anywho this morning I did the third segment of Fitstix Fusion with GreenDay music.  Alittle TaeBo then some of this wonderful Temple Dance by Karen Andes.
ETA:  I also did the Jessica Smith Thin in 10 Band Routine which was nice

All Fitstix Fusion!

This morning I returned to the Fitstix Fusion workout to which I had added more current music that I did as a spark yesterday and just couldn't stop till I pooped.  It works so well with the bungee and Fitstix though you can substitute any light weight or do it with empty hands too.
Love the MUves
Lurve the MUsic.

and I did this one last night which I Lurved
TBTV April B& with African Drums

I am glad I listened to my own drum and marched to its own beat cuz the combination really clicked for me.

Jessica and Kim

I am feeling much better since lowering caffeine intake and trying to avoid low blood sugar :)

This morning I did a Jessica Smith Quickie Cardio Thin in 10 found on Sportskool.
I liked it enough to revisit and may eventually add music to it

Then I did most of the Kim Lyons Walk It Off with music added

The music in this one really clicked for me today!

ETA:
This afternoon's spark was from Fitstix Fusion with music I added

Friday, November 16, 2012

Debbie and Kim and alittle Billy too

This morning I did Debbie Rocker's Core Walk to which I had added music, sometimes holding Fitstix and sometimes holding a band.  It was so much better than I had expected!

Then I did a 10 minute Adv Walk It Off by Kim Lyons to which I had added music

Finished with alittle TaeBoTV to which I had added music but did it at halftime

I am trying not to do any intense workouts because I have been experiencing much worse hypoglycemic feelings since Sandy stressed me out.  Also I am cutting back on caffeine and trying to eat small meals more frequently.

Advanced TBTV May5

all videos have been deleted on youtube

Embedded Youtube Videos

If an embedded youtube video doesn't play on the blog, click on the watch on youtube option in the lower right corner of the video screen.

After a Windows update, Blogger using the Chrome browser no longer plays an embedded youtube video on my laptop.
I can play it on youtube by clicking on *Watch it on youtube*.
I can play vimeo embedded videos fine.
I can play embedded youtube videos on FaceBook.
I can play it on the blog using other browsers (old versions of MSIE and Firefox).

I cannot find any other recent complaints or solutions.
Really, really hate it when an automatic update fouls up the works.

Mystery is partially solved.  I think a security update is preventing me from playing a youtube embedded file when I am signed into Blogger.  I can either live with it or remove all of my cookies and cache data.

All Youtube

This morning I skipped the bungee and went right to my HDTV to do some youtube stuff.
First I did the first part of Fitstix Fusion

Then I did alittle of the same segment but with different music

and finished with one of Steve Maresca's Exercise TV routines but used a weightless chiball instead of a medball

They were so wonderful that I wonder if I may give up dvds altogether one day.

Fabulous Workout!

I wish I could bottle how I felt when doing these workouts this morning and drink from that bottle as needed.

First I bounced on the bungee while holding Fitstix, sometimes switching to a band, with the Debbie Rocker Upper Body Walk to which I had added music

then I did the Winter episode of the Barefoot Dancer which felt completely new to me:

BAK again

Escaped to AC for a couple of days and almost recuperated mentally from Sandy.
We recognized a couple we knew over 35 years ago at our table when playing Bingo at the Borgata and drove them crazy making them wait till Bingo was almost over before revealing our identities LOL
and DH actually won Bingo for the first time ever.  Only got $100 for a split pot with other winners but it was a nice change.  I missed the final coverall by 2 spaces with several other numbers called in the interim :(

Did alot of walking in beautiful weather yesterday.

Some aggravation today with son getting another damaged game dvd from the Blockbusters store we now have to drive to several miles away.  Really wish they hadn't closed our local one we could walk to.  They didn't even give him a discount for the week without electricity or for the last damaged game dvd he had.  He will definitely cancel the monthly game rental account before the real winter starts.  This store has terrible quality control.   In spite of the odd-even gas rationing ending, prices in gas are escalating and going to this store is becoming a real pia.

Also I wanted to embed the first of a wonderful Hamelin series available on vimeo:
Hamelin D'abell Method workout1 from Hamelin D'abell Method on Vimeo.
These have unique music and no cuing.

Last but not least, I redid the Jessica Cardio Blast to be much larger:

Here's Variety for Y'all

I did three different versions of Jessica Smith's Barefoot Sunset Walk

Freemake Audio Tip

In this picture, change the drop down menu for audio in the lower right corner to MP2 when burning a dvdr.

By doing this, you may hear the audio that seems to be missing like my audio was missing when using a Play Station2 as a dvd player.  I use the MP2 choice as my output audio for all conversions and dvdr burns.

Kim, Debbie, Jessica and ?

Here's what I did today:
the second half of Kim Lyons Adv Walk on the bungee with Fitstix

The Debbie Rocker Lower Body Walk

The new Jessica Smith Standing Abs

and a Balance Body routine to which I added the Yellow Bird Calypso song

I realize not everyone will like my quirky combos but hope many do.
Jessica's Standing Abs had decent music so not messing with it LOL

TF and Kim Walk It Off (and JS)

This morning I started with the upright segment of a core TurboFire that used a band then tried some of a 30 minute Turbofire workout but the music was too soft to keep me muving so I switched to a walking workout led by Kim Lyons to which I had added music.
This worked well with the bungee and Fitstix

Jenny and Teri

Last evening, I hurt my right foot and thought I may not be able to workout this morning but ironically, working-out actually removed the pain I was feeling!  Actually had the best workout I have had in a long time energy-wise.  The music and moves really clicked for me.
Or maybe it was the relief that we didn't lose power again during yesterday's storm even though we did have a short loss during one wind gust.

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to the rest of the Jenny Ford Latin Zoom workout to which I had added Reggae music.  Really REALLY enjoyed it!!!
Yesterday's post has it embedded.

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Jenny and Body Balance

This morning I warmed up on the bungee with the Jenny Ford Latin Zoom routine to which I had added Reggae music
More info about the source of this workout will be posted on tomorrow's checkin.

Then I did some Body Balance warmups found on vk.com

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

AM Walk to Steel Drums and PM Irish Walk

I just created this combination which was requested:
A Debbie Rocker Walk done to Steel Drums instead of her verbal cuing

Violet WU, Indian Clubs, Chiball

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to some boxing with Violet and RefitRev Crank It Up:

Then I did some Indian Clubs using my homemade XCO Trainers (Pringles/Lays cans partially filled with rocksalt), Swords (Walmart Bubble Wands), and Fitstix.  The moves even worked well holding nothing!

Finished with some Chiball on the beach then a short walk outside in the chill to vote while warmed up.

Monday, November 5, 2012

Persian Zumba, Violet Bar, Scottish Ballet, African Walk

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to the second half of the second Persian Zumba which I had chaptered.

Then I did the BoCore video by Violet while holding my *sword*
(a large bubble wand from Walmart partially filled with rocksalt):

Then I did the Vimeo Scottish Ballet to which I had added Classical Beetle music and uploaded to youtube and accessed through our Vizio Internet App on our HDTV
and finished with the second part of the Leslie Walk to which I had added African music

Unfortunately these classes are not available to share because the Nia folks want to be able to track the traffic on their website.   They do not allow sharing of their OOP vhs because they do not own the music copyrights.

Download programs and sites keep changing their setup and various updates can affect download capability from day to day so I have to try a few different approaches if at first, I do not succeed.  I am tenacious and just keep trying till I do succeed.  Lately, it seems as though MP4 downloads work for me but flv downloads are getting harder and harder to accomplish. Sometimes using a different browser works.
I can use Freemake Video Downloader to download the newer classes because they just fixed a download glitch.  Right click on the video to copy the url then paste that url when using Freemake Video Downloader.
Freemake Video Converter didn't work and Realplayer stopped working for me. If it works for you, Realplayer probably is the most compatible download program for the older Nia classes which I used before MS updates probably disabled Realplayer for me.
Firefox Download Helper worked with the older classes but not the newer ones for me but perhaps they have fixed that bug.  They recently fixed their bug to download from DailyMotion.
You can also try download sites but avoid clicking on any advertisements.
My favorite is savefrom.net because I just use the top line to paste the url and click the yellow download button next to it then choose which file format I want.  The file appears in my download folder.  You do not need a special video player like the advertisement claims.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.
ETA 8/12/2016 today savefrom did not work but Chrome Video Downloader Professional extension did.
What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow and what didn't work yesterday may work tomorrow.  For more info, check my *Downloading A Video* post in my Favorite Links

ETA:
The Nia Groovin VHS was uploaded on their Nianow site:

Also one of Debbie's earliest recordings Elements was shared.

Today's Workout

This morning I did the first part of the second Persian Zumba youtube video then some of Violet's bar/sword workout also on youtube.

Violet's started with this one on one side then the next part works the other side:

Sandy Aftermath

What I really missed was having no connection to the outside world. In the old days, our landline may have still been functioning. Thank goodness, there are still radio stations a very old battery powered radio could receive even though some of the stations lacked juice to transmit. Everytime a radio announcement would give a phone number or website to go to, I wanted to SCREAM. We had no idea from day to day who had power, what supermarkets or restaurants were opened, etc. A local bagel place running on a generator has earned our loyalty forever. Amazing what a hot cup of fresh coffee and a hot egg and cheese sandwich can do. How I wish I hadn't chucked my stove top coffee maker. Otherwise, we ate well being stocked up on healthy canned and dry goods.
Wish I had the foresight to put our perishables into a doubled insulated bag with ice cuz the bag still had ice this morning but I kept expecting the power to go on in time to save them. Also wish I kept my old oven which I could light with a match.
Wish gas and oil furnaces weren't dependent on electric thermostats.
Wish I had realized we had hot water and would continue to have hot water all along instead of finding that out several days into the week of no power.

Most of all Wish power is restored ASAP and folks who lost everything enjoy beautiful new homes.
If it weren't for our amazing governor, many more lives would have been lost. I went from a Christie Hater to a Christie Lover. He showed a true leader transcends politics. It is a shame he ruined his political future with the Republican Party being a leader first and a politician second.  Still wish he hadn't vetoed Gay Marriage in NJ but at least believe if given the chance would Man-Up and admit he was wrong to do so once he realizes how he has hurt so many of his constituents in an effort to support the Republican platform.

Best part of being hit by Hurricane Sandy:
no phonecalls including robo-calls and campaign calls :)

Since youtube has proven to be accepting of my music added videos, I will eventually make them public instead of unlisted.

BAK after Sandy

We lost power and perishables but otherwise are much better off than most in Sandy's path.  It was especially frustrating not having cell phone service most days.  Thank goodness boiling a bunch of pots of water on our gas stove top by striking a match worked to keep our home more comfortable.
and our favorite casino The Borgata has reopened!
So this nightmare is over for us but will never be over over for so many others.

Our son who lives in the UK was visiting NYC this week but couldn't get out to visit us and returns tomorrow.  He'll have plenty of stories to tell his mates.

I was able to do a few of my videos thanks to my laptop which enabled me to shed some stress, especially the Leslie Sansones with Christmas and African music.

Today's Highlights

This morning after failing to get FIOS to connect to youtube for me (think a java update fouled up Media Manager), I retried the Vizio Internet App on our new Vizio TV.  I signed into my youtube account and was very pleased with the videos I could access.

First I warmed up with my newest creation, Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Walkaerobics with African music

Then I did some of Violet's Martial Arts bar stuff from my Violet Playlist:

Then I did some of the videos from my Radiant Heart Playlist.
I was so enjoying youtube on our HDTV that I didn't switch to using the bungee with a dvd.

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Wonderful New Stuff

This morning I warmed up with Leslie Sansone's old Walkaerobics 4 Mile Weightloss Walk to which I added Holiday music

Then I did some more of the Bellicon class to which I had added music
Then I did some of Violet's wonderful Martial Arts bar routine but used my large Walmart bubble wand partially filled with rock salt as my *sword*:

and

Last I did some of the Barre3 Standing Slim routine on vimeo.

Another Persian Zumba!!!

New Persian Zumba 2 youtube video has been uploaded!!!

Happy Camper Here

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JutuakUtdko&feature=BFa&list=PLLVL_gzgt5jn1rcpbKspiTEY_NRPZmrjh

then did 2 of the Bellicon videos with music added

then did a nice lower body by Petra holding a weighted ball.

then alittle more of Nia's Awareness of the Pelvis which is also on my youtube channel.
Being listed, it will come up on a search for Nia Plevis.

and finished with CS 830

Youtube on our HDTV

Just couldn't get completely into the workout groove this morning though a few times it felt like I was on my way.  First I made the mistake of trying to warm up on the bungee to a *real* rebounding workout I had on vhs before I decided whether to try to trade for its dvd: Champion Supersets.   Obviously, I now have no interest in getting the dvd version.
Next I started muving a bit more on the bungee when doing the youtube Jessica Smith Cardio Blast to which I had added music but started running out of steam so switched to some Classic arms with Hamelin D'abell (youtube) and liked some of the moves but not all of the reps so was fast forwarding alot.  Next I did alittle bit of a bunch of clips playing on our HDTV now that I have it synced with Verizon Media Player.  Our Vizio HDTV did come with Web apps including youtube but they often froze. Watching youtube through the FIOS system is much more reliable.

I did a few short clips which were saved on my laptop then did a few minutes of various videos on youtube including  a Classical Stretch and the Janis Safell - Scott Cole warmup. This is definitely the way to go if I want to workout with youtube!  Will still download youtube clips if I want to add music to them and/or use the bungee in another room with a dvdr.  I do have to open Verizon Media Manager on my laptop first to view youtube on the tv but that is no biggie.

Another great combo thanks to Freemake

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to some of Kathy Smith's Rejuvenation Walk to which I added music.  Again adding music pumped new life into an old routine.
Then I finished Unplugged and really enjoyed the cooldown.  Chaptering Unplugged made a real difference for its revisit.
Next I revisited the rest of MeltItOff Progressive Strength's upright segment and some of the MeltItOff Core standing ab but used a weightless chiball because the 2 lb smartbell aggravated my shoulder during a previous revisit.
Finished with some CS barre.

I used Freemake Video Converter for ripping titles from dvd, trimming them into chapters, removing audio from clips that I want to add music to, and/or to rip a routine that I want to save on my hard drive like the Unplugged Cooldown.
Thanks to Freemake, I am also trimming videos I want to load to FIOS to play on our hdtv because Verizon Media Manager will only sync clips under 10 minutes.

Friday, October 19, 2012

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to some Mom's Cafe Cardio (youtube) with music added then some of Kathy Smith's Rejuvenation Walk to which I added music and really enjoyed that, both on and off the bungee while holding homemade XCO trainers.
Next I did the third quarter of Unplugged, alittle Tiffany Rothe Pregnancy workout (youtube), and the Body Balance youtube workout to which I had added music. The Body Balance video is the one done in a store with African music uploaded on http://neverendingplateau.blogspot.com/2012/10/body-balance.html

Finished with CS.

Both the right hip and shoulder seem to be much improved, especially after trying this stretch last night suggested by Loren Fishman, MD.:

(Note: I did it with the other leg back and felt relief in my right hip)

Nia Awareness of Pelvis

The most recent Nia online class has been uploaded!
Awareness of Pelvis
http://www.nianow.com/story/2012/10/nia-class-video-awareness-of-pelvis

Started out Strong but Pooped

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to some Classical Stretch cardio to which I had added music (the kickboxing and athletic cardio worked well on the bungee) then did another 1/4 of Nia Unplugged and really got into it.  Unfortunately, I pooped cuz Carlos exhausted me LOL
I try not to over-visit Unplugged to keep it fresh and each time I do, it feels new.
Kept muving (barely) doing alittle lower body with Cindy Whitmarsh on Exercise TV then alittle CS.

Full Original Bellicon Class video at

Nia Unplugged

After warming up on the bungee to some videos to which I had added music, I started to revisit Nia Unplugged Dance to Drums and have to say it may still be my favorite dvd in my whole collection.

I then did alittle more of Kit and RefitRev Zumba songs from youtube before finishing with some CS.  This was one of Kit's I enjoyed this morning:

How to download and add music to a video file

I prefer to download/convert/edit/burn with Freemake Video Converter using a Windows operating system.

Downloading:
If the video site is not compatible with Freemake Video Converter, I use Freemake Video Downloader.
If the video is not compatible with either Freemake product, I use Download Helper on the Firefox browser.
When downloading any Freemake product from
www.freemake.com
I do not recommend getting the toolbar or any other extra software offered with Freemake products which you can avoid by choosing to customize the download and installation.  Be very careful which boxes are checked or unchecked.

Freemake can download youtube files and burn the files into a movie file onto a dvdr in a single swoop but I store these video files on my hard drive in MP4 format till I have a couple of hours to burn onto a single dvdr with Freemake.  Sometimes I edit these files and/or add music.

If I want to add my own music, I can choose *no Audio* when converting the file to make a muted MP4 file or I can add one long soundtrack using the dropdown audio menu.
If I have a soundtrack available (several songs already joined into one MP3 file), I can add that file to replace the original audio instead of muting the original.
(if ripping a DVD with more than one soundtrack or language, this audio dropdown menu may offer those additional options)

Sometimes before converting I trim out parts I do not want to do and/or break long videos into smaller segments or chapters, each saved separately

For music, I rip cds and more recently, online video files (youtube, amazon freebies, etc.).
RunHundred makes excellent song suggestions

Youtube has a zillion videos with music.
I just download with Freemake Video Converter by *Pasting the url* of the song on youtube as the source then convert to MP3.

To add music to muted video files, I use Windows Live Movie Maker.
I could add the music with Freemake but would be limited to one MP3 file. Plus it is easier to find the exact spot to change the song on Windows Live Movie Maker.   I save the movie for email which makes the file smaller cuz visual quality isn't worth more space to me.

You can also edit a video file on a dvd workout in the same way, ripping the video from the dvdr with Freemake.  Use the DVD as your source.  Freemake will give you a choice of titles to play, trim and convert.

ETA: when downloading and converting video files, make new folders as needed so you can find the files and delete files you no longer need.
For more tips, check the labels for Freemake Video Converter Tips or Freemake links

ETA:
To add MUsic while keeping the original cuing voice, do not mute the video before adding music with Windows Live Movie Maker.  If the original music is soft, you should hear just the cuing with your new music.  You can adjust the volume of the music files you are using with MP3Gain.

Love Downloads

Everything I did today was downloaded from the internet except CS which was recorded from tv.
Editing and adding music to online workouts is definitely more motivating for me to keep muving than retail workout dvds.  Now believe my best piece of workout equipment has been my laptop with its dvdr burning drive.

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to parts of Jessica Smith's Sunset Walk, first of which had music from *Once on this Island* and the other more Broadway music (JC Superstar, Joseph, and Hair).  Then I did some of the online Buti videos but had edited out the mat stuff I wouldn't have done.  I did modify the moves, not going as deep or fast but thoroughly enjoyed it.  My hip even seemed to like the new movement. All of the above made me sweat.  I then tried some of a Jessica Smith download without the music added which was on the same burned dvdr and felt my enthusiasm waning so skipped it and muved on.  Next I did an online Zumba chair routine while sitting on a stability ball and then an online Zumba Toning Stix routine.  Finished with some CS.

Almost forgot to check in and hope I can remember what I did early this morning.
I warmed up with the Jessica Smith Cardio Barefoot Flow which was more like an Ellen Barrett than walking cardio so was on and off the bungee alot.  The Oldies music I added kept me muving though and it was longer than my first workout segment usually is.   Then I did some Janis Saffell band stuff and finished with CS.

Just did a spark with the Jessica Smith Sunset Walk with music from the Broadway show *Once on this Island*

Body Balance

This morning I warmed up on the bungee to Jessica Smith's Interval Walk to which I had added Broadway music from the Secret Garden and Bollywood Dreams.

Next I did a few short BodyFlex (Body Balance) routines found online.

Then I did some of Grace Lazenby's warmup and ballet barre style lower body from her Rockin Model dvd which had been on youtube but unfortunately, I didn't bookmark its link and can no longer find it on youtube so decided not to upload the edited file I have of it, leaving out the mat stuff.  There are preview clips on youtube and TotalFitness Dvds that show some of the warmup and barre lower body.

Finished with some CS.

Great Vids Today

First I warmed up on the bungee to another file of Hamelin D'abell cardio with Reggae music added.  Then I did a new Jessica Smith download:

Next I did some of a clip by Janis Saffell which was uploaded quite awhile ago using the band and bar contraption but it worked quite well with my Body Gospel bands and could be done without any bands:

Finished with some CS.

I will probably add music to Jessica's new vid because the moves worked well on the bungee and with Fitstix.     Also will add music to her new Cardio Blast video because it has the same audio quality.
May add music to the Saffell file as well.

Don't Know til I Try

I notice many mornings when I think I feel energetic, my workouts do not always go as well as expected.  Ironically, on other days that I doubt a real workout will happen, something kicks in and I feel great.  This morning I almost skipped working out, not feeling well and having a scratchy throat.  Once I started muving, I felt so much better!  Again music was the key to make me muve.  Also notice this on days when I have an injury.  Always feel better to muve than let the injury derail me and actually radiate even more to surrounding areas, trying to avoid using the injured area.   Injuries happen.  Some of the worse happen without a result of a workout move like from a sneeze or a cough or just reaching for something too suddenly.  Muving helps to heal injuries and to prevent new injuries from otherwise happening.   All joints have to be loosened and  lubricated.  All muscles have to be used in contractions and extensions   A painful injury doesn't mean you cannot work other parts of your body.  Even if all you can wiggle is a toe, just do it!
During previous decades, I remember so many extended periods of pain from back and shoulder  injuries which would have healed so much faster if I had kept moving instead of becoming a vegetable afraid to move.  I heal so much faster at 63 than I did at 33.

Anywho I warmed up on the bungee to the three songs that I had uploaded to my blog (and filemail) with Reggae music added to Hamelin D'abell cardio.  I didn't always do exactly what he was doing, tweaking moves to what I prefer to do on the bungee and to my own beat.  Really enjoyed it and had to fight against doing the next combination of songs LOL
Next I did some of his online upper body toning.  I dropped even the light weights because my shoulder twinged and did half the reps slower and isometrically and really felt them.  Then I did a couple of Classical Stretches to catch up a bit since my trip to AC.  Was feeling really good till I did a hip stretch which actually made my hip worse so I rolled on a tennis size ball to release the knot.  All is well now.  Everything feels better than it did before the workout, including my throat.

BAK

Took off for a couple of days to our home away from home (AC).   Spent most of the time playing penny slots and walking indoors since it was drizzly.  Out of the blue, the Borgata had offered us a comped suite so I jumped on it. Really enjoyed the bath I had last night in a huge bath tub in the suite.  The hot bath stopped a cold from taking hold and cured my shoulder DOMS or whatever was causing me pain from my last workout.

Reggae and Hamelin

I didn't like the music and background noise on this long Hamelin D'abell cardio clip and love to bounce to Reggae so added some Reggae to it :)
Here's the original clip:

Christi Mitch Mindy Hamelin and Miranda

This morning I warmed up on the bungee with the rest of the Christi Taylor videos that I had downloaded  which are located at http://www.youtube.com/user/ChristiTaylorFIT
The songs I did this morning included She Bangs :)

Then I did the first half of the Progressive Strength Mitch Gaylord and Mindy Mylrea weighted ball dvd routine.  I used my 2 pound Smartbell instead of a ball but this would work with any light weight or even a weightless playground ball/chiball.  In fact, it was much more like a chiball routine than anything else.

Next I did some Hamelin D'abell which has music only online (Vimeo) which I prefer to his retail dvdr with verbal cuing.

 Finished with some Classical Stretch.
